  6. In the coming months AMUG™ has many events planned. 
  7.  
  8. AMUG Club House Open
  9. For  those members who cannot always make it to the main meetings and 
  10. wish to purchase Macintosh books at 20% off of retail,  the AMUG Club 
  11. House is now open. We have Resedit, Excel, Word 5, Inside Mac, programing 
  12. books and much more available. You can also get great AMUG T-Shirts, Disks 
  13. and CD-ROM's at this location. Hours will be 10:00AM to 6:00PM each day 
  14. but call first as we have to run out at times. Call Lea Bromley or 
  15. Michael Bean at 277-5006 . The Club house is located at 806 E. Amelia, 
  16. Phoenix, AZ 85014. This temporary site is working great until we can 
  17. find a more permanent location in Tempe.

  19. On March  19, 1992 AMUG will host Aladdin, Adobe and Symantec. This meeting 
  20. will be at 7:00PM in Tempe at the Sheraton  Mission Palms, located at 
  21. 60 E. 5th St. Tempe, AZ.  Aladdin will be showing us there new super 
  22. compression program. Aldus will be demonstrating Pre-Press. Also expect 
  23. new goodies from Symantec. REMEMBER this is our new meeting place in TEMPE!

  25. On April 16, 1992 AMUG will host Claris. This meeting will be at 7:00PM .

  29. AMUG QuickTime Contest!
  30. The Arizona Macintosh Users Group will host a QuickTime presentation contest 
  31. starting March 1, 1992 and ending April 1, 1992. All participantes must have 
  32. their submission in no later than April 1, 1992. The contest will be open to 
  33. all  Quick Time presentations created by the Macintosh community. A board 
  34. of officials will be selected for judging based on originality and creativity.
  35.  
  36. Video, Slide show, Music and cartoon enties are all encouraged. First place 
  37. will win $200 in AMUG Bucks which can be used for disks, books, T-Shirts 
  38. and CD-ROM's from AMUG. Call Michael Bean at 602-277-5006 to register

  41. Members Auction 1992
  42. Its that time again! On May 16, 1992 AMUG will host its annual members 
  43. Macintosh software and hardware auction GALORE. This event will be from 
  44. 12-6PM on May 16, 1992 at the Tempe Sheraton Mission Palms, located 
  45. at 60 E. 5th St. in Tempe. Last time we had hundreds of items available 
  46. at a fraction of their value. DO NOT MISS this event. You will be able to 
  47. bring your items in for sale from 12-1PM and the auction will start 
  48. promptly at 1:00PM.

  50. On May 21, 1992 AMUG will host Microseeds, Now Utilities and TimeWorks. 
  51. This meeting will be at 7:00PM in Tempe at the Sheraton  Mission Palms, 
  52. located at 60 E. 5th St. Tempe, AZ .

  56. New items from Apple Computer
  57. Apple has released version 1.1 of QuickTime and AMUG has it available along 
  58. with the new System 7.0 TuneUp disk. Expect improved memory and 
  59. printing performance from the update. QuickTime is for those folks that 
  60. have color Macintosh computers. QuickTime from AMUG is $6.00 for the 
  61. two disk set or $20 for all five disks including three disks worth of movies. 
  62. If you have not seen QuickTime you really should try it.

  64. Custom QuickTime Movies...
  65. MacWizards will create custom QuickTime movies for you from your 
  66. VCR favorites. For $35.00 and 4 disks you can have four clips of about 
  67. 7 seconds of  your favorite family or business video converted into 
  68. QuickTime movies complete with your audio tracks. This process is 
  69. done with a Quadra 900 and a Video Spigot card. The Quadra 900 Audio in 
  70. jack is used to capture audio from the tape while the Spigot card converts 
  71. video. Larger films can be recorded if you have a 45 meg removable. 
  72. Also custom movies can be created using video camera. If you are
